Operating Director

I’m Brandi Murray, and I serve as the Operating Director for Cornerstone Caregiving in Dalton, Georgia.

For over 26 years, my life has been rooted in emergency medicine —I bring 26 years of frontline healthcare experience in Emergency Medical Services, working in disaster response, trauma care, and complex medical environments across the country and internationally. My career has been shaped in moments where decisions mattered, pressure was high, and people needed steady, competent care—not promises.

During COVID, I spent 18 months traveling across the country, stepping into hospitals and ICUs that were stretched beyond their limits. Later, I was deployed to Camp Atterbury, Indiana, where I worked in the medical clinic for Operation Allied Refuge, helping care for Afghan families arriving in the U.S. with nothing but hope and fear. Those experiences taught me something simple but powerful: people don’t just need care — they need to feel seen.

My passion for seniors didn’t come from a job title. It came from my home. I was raised by my grandparents, and later cared for them through cancer, dementia, and hospice. I watched how fragile independence can be — and how meaningful it is to preserve it for as long as possible. That’s where my heart for this work was born.

For the last five years, I’ve worked in senior living leadership as a Director of Sales and Marketing, walking families through difficult decisions and helping them find peace in uncertain seasons.

This work is not just what I do — it’s who I am. I am honored to serve Dalton and to help build care that is personal, trustworthy, and rooted in compassion. If you need support for a loved one, or if you’re looking to join a team that believes care should feel personal, I’d be honored to connect.

I started using cornerstone about 2 months ago. My 92 year old father’s caregiver had to quit unexpectedly and fairly suddenly. I live 7 hours away and was trying to “work the problem” from my home. When I received a call back from Cornerstone something in my gut told me this was who I needed to go with. Sometimes it pays to go with your gut because I’ve not been disappointed. Vannesia is the caregiver who’s assigned to my dad and there’s not enough room in cyberspace for me to say how amazing she is! Living so far away it’s a matter of trust and faith when you’re picking a caregiver and leaving your dad in their hands. There’s never been a day that I did not know my father is safe and well taken care of with Vannesia. She cooks for him, sits and chats with him, and most of all puts up with a 92-year-old man who struggles with dementia and lost his wife and son within a year and a half of each other. She even sends me pictures of Daddy enjoying the food she makes because she knows I about him eating. These pictures are priceless to me because I know I probably don’t have a lot of time left with Dad. But whatever time he has left I sleep well every night because I know she takes care of him. So many thanks to cornerstone and especially to Vannesia!
