Finance Analyst (part time)
Job Summary
The Finance Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing corporate credit card transactions across the company to ensure accuracy and proper coding. This role involves flagging abnormal transactions, managing communications with Operating Directors, and ensuring that all transactions are completed and coded correctly. Additionally, the Finance Analyst will perform quarterly audits and be the primary point of contact for bookkeepers and Operating Directors on transaction-related matters.
Responsibilities and Duties
Transaction Review and Coding
- Review company-wide corporate credit card transactions for accuracy.
- Ensure transactions are properly coded according to company guidelines.
- Edit and update miscoded transactions to ensure proper categorization.
- Verify that all required fields in transaction records are completed.
Transaction Monitoring and Follow-up:
- Send automated reminders to individuals with outstanding or incomplete transactions.
- Flag abnormal or unauthorized transactions for review by the Finance Manager.
- Notate and report transactions from unauthorized merchants to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure that all transactions are processed and finalized by the end of each month.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with Operating Directors to educate and inform them about coding issues or errors.
- Respond to Operating Directors’ questions regarding transaction coding.
- Serve as the point of contact for bookkeepers with transaction-specific inquiries.
- Flag incidental personal transactions made with company credit cards and log them into tracking spreadsheets.
- Identify and log “bill to client” transactions in the appropriate spreadsheets.
Auditing and Compliance:
- Conduct quarterly audits of transactions, verifying the accuracy and legitimacy of specific purchases.
- Ensure that office expenses are correctly charged to the office’s virtual card and investigate any unauthorized virtual cards created by offices.
- Communicate findings from audits and address issues with Operating Directors.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in corporate finance, credit card transaction review, or auditing is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet management.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
