Treasury Manager
Job Summary
The Treasury Manager is Cornerstone’s dedicated owner of cash visibility, liquidity management, and banking operations across a 400+ location national platform. Reporting to the SVP Finance, this role fills a critical gap in the current finance organization — establishing a daily cash positioning function, building the 13-week cash flow forecast from the ground up, and bringing structure to banking account administration and compliance across all operating entities. This is a build role in a high-growth, PE-backed environment. The right candidate is operationally rigorous, comfortable working with limited existing infrastructure, and able to establish processes and controls that scale. The Treasury Manager works closely with the finance organization, providing weekly liquidity visibility and supporting debt service and covenant reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Day One Ownership
The following areas are under the Treasury Manager’s ownership from the first day:
- Daily cash positioning — manage cash across all operating entities and bank accounts, with same-day visibility finance leadership.
- 13-week cash flow forecast — build, maintain, and present weekly to the finance leadership team.
- Banking operations — positive pay, wire transfers, and account administration across all entities.
- ZBA and account structure — design and implement zero-balance account structures and banking rules.
- Lockbox & payor setup — configure lockbox services, payor enrollment, and payment transformation workflows.
- Debt service tracking — interest payments, principal schedules, and fee tracking in coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cash Flow & Liquidity Management
- Own and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast, updated weekly with actuals and revised projections.
- Manage daily cash positioning across all bank accounts and operating entities; ensure same day visibility and flag liquidity concerns proactively.
- Forecast and monitor inflows across payors, billing cycles, and collection timing; track outflows across payroll, AP, debt service, and operating costs.
- Identify and escalate liquidity risks; provide scenario analysis to the finance leadership team, as needed.
- Build variance analysis against prior forecast; drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy over time.
2. Banking Operations & Account Administration
- Serve as the day-to-day banking operations owner across all entities — wire transfers, positive pay, ACH setup, and account administration.
- Design and implement zero-balance account (ZBA) structures and banking rules across the entity portfolio.
- Administer bank account openings, closings, user access, and authorized signer maintenance as the platform grows.
- Configure lockbox services and payor enrollment; support payment transformation workflows in coordination with the billing and collections team.
- Maintain banking compliance documentation; ensure account controls and access are audit ready at all times.
3. Debt Service & Covenant Support
- Track interest payments, principal schedules, and fee obligations across all debt instruments.
- Maintain a debt service calendar and ensure timely remittance.
- Support covenant compliance reporting by providing accurate, timely cash and liquidity data for sponsor and lender packages.
- Flag upcoming covenant tests and reporting deadlines; assist in preparing the cash and liquidity sections of lender deliverables.
4. Budgeting, Forecasting & P&L Support
- Lead the annual cash flow budgeting process in coordination with FP&A and the business leaders.
- Support quarterly re-forecasting cycles with updated cash flow assumptions, inflow/outflow timing, and working capital inputs.
- Partner with FP&A on P&L analytics that intersect with cash timing — AR velocity, billing cycle performance, and payroll timing impacts.
- Provide cash flow commentary for board and investor reporting packages as requested.
5. Process Improvement & Systems
- Build and document standardized treasury processes and controls from the ground up; establish the operating cadence for the treasury function.
- Evaluate treasury management system options as the organization scales; make recommendations on tooling.
- Leverage Sage Intacct for cash reporting and reconciliation; integrate banking data feeds where available.
- Partner with the data infrastructure team on cash reporting automation as the Snowflake stack is built out.
Required
- 5–8 years of treasury or cash management experience in a multi-entity or multi-site environment.
- Direct ownership of daily cash positioning and forecasting — has built or managed a 13-week cash flow model.
- Hands-on experience with banking compliance and account structures, including ZBA setup, banking rules, and controls frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to build treasury processes and controls in an environment with limited existing infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills; comfortable working in Excel at an advanced level.
Preferred
- Healthcare, home services, or high-transaction-volume industry background.
- CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) certification.
- Experience with Sage Intacct or comparable mid-market ERP; treasury management system experience a plus.
- Prior experience in a PE-backed or high-growth operating company; understands sponsor reporting cadence and lender deliverables.
- Familiarity with debt service tracking, covenant compliance support, and lender package preparation.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity in a build-phase environment where processes and systems are still being established.
