We had never needed home help before but my husband had a stroke with right side paralyzed. We went to the VA for help after our insurance stopped paying for rehab. Cornerstone works with the VA to provide home care. The owner of Cornerstone called and asked to visit us to talk about their services. We requested Cornerstone to the VA. The first caregiver was good but had to bow out after 2 days from back problems. The next fellow was experienced,careful and gave excellent care. He has a great personality and he and my husband do very well together. He is very punctual and efficient while also being gentle and caring. He even encourages and helps my husband do his exercises to maintain the abilities he has regained. So far we have nothing but praise for the company and the caregivers we have had. They also work with any scheduling issues that arise because of appointments.

We have been using Cornerstone services since January. We have found the staff to be reliable. This was not the service we were receiving with our previous provider. We have needed to have additional care hours on a few occasions where we were only able to provide a few hours notice. My husband spent September through December of 2025 in the hospital, rehab center, nursing home and back to the hospital before being discharged home December 31. He and and his family were happy about his discharge. However, New Years Eve Day is not a great day to get needed supplies and help for his return home. The first agency I hired charged me 1400 dollars for less than ten days of service at two hours each day. The aid was paid ten dollars an hour and the agency kept the rest. The second agency had one aid available at 2:00 PM for two hour and insisted I had to use her. I needed someone an hour in the AM to help get him started for the day and an hour in the PM to help settle him for bedtime. Finally someone directed me to Cornerstone and they have been wonderful. They sent us an aid named Melinda; she works from 8-9AM and 5-6PM. She checks his blood sugar, oxygen level, blood pressure, bathing, dressing, feeds his peg tube, and helps him to his recliner.
